North Carolina's fossil invertebrates are represented by an extensive collection of shells, including the extremely rare Fasciolaria sparrowi. The Cultural History Room features a comprehensive collection of Eastern North Carolina Indigenous and Early-American artifacts.
Our mineral collection, acquired through generous donations, allows one to learn about the minerals of North Carolina and their economic importance.
The Learning Center houses a vast collection of fossils from around the world which offer a representative depiction of life through geologic time.
The Aurora Fossil Museum also hosts revolving collections on loan from fossil collectors.
