The Aurora Fossil Museum has a wide variety of vertebrate fossil exhibits, ranging from the Pleistocene Age Mastodon to casts of an associated set of Parotodus benedinii shark's teeth which were found in the local area.

 

North Carolina's fossil invertebrates are represented by an extensive collection of shells, including the extremely rare Fasciolaria sparrowi.

The Cultural History Room features a comprehensive collection of Eastern North Carolina Indigenous and Early-American artifacts.



Our mineral collection, acquired through generous donations, allows one to learn about the minerals of North Carolina and their economic importance.



The Learning Center houses a vast collection of fossils from around the world which offer a representative depiction of life through geologic time.




The Aurora Fossil Museum also hosts revolving collections on loan from fossil collectors.
